Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge is no more just a film. It’s an iconic pride Bollywood owns with much elan. You can imagine the wonder that DDLJ is when The Great Barack Obama himself speaks the movie’s dialogue on his India visit. “Senorita, bade bade deshon mein….You know what I mean,” said the US President recently, and almost the whole nation dropped its jaws, wondering, ‘Wow!’
Such is the magic of DDLJ.
And now, years after, since the movie has just completed its 1000 weeks (especially in the era wherein one film doesn’t last in the cinema halls beyond a week), a London Film School student, Natasha Rathore, is filming a documentary on it. “I wanted to explore as to what makes this film so magical. With this documentary, I will demystify as to what all DDLJ did – touch so many hearts, change so many lives, et al,” says Natasha in this video.
Also, a lot of behind-the-scenes shots of DDLJ are shown in these videos which takes all Bollywood lovers a trip down the memory lane – SRK in his younger days….middle parted hair, the naughty grins while shooting…at the time he was not a superstar. Then Kajol in a candid avatar, laughing and giggling at the sets, a very young Farida Jalal…all of them shooting and having a ball together, as a very young Aditya Chopra silently sits on the director’s chair and puts all the scenes together. Quite a memory this is. We’re awaiting this documentary. Go check out the video. (Source)
